Magnum Château Barrabaque Tradition Rouge 150cl
Intense hue, violet glints on the young vintages which evolves to ruby red after a while in bottle. Lovely aromatic freshness, soft black fruit in its youth then red fruit with age. Fresh attack, dynamic palate, tannins that are present then weave into the wine with a nice finesse and lingering finish.
Soil
Clay and limestone on a directly south-facing slope and clay-silica on the foothills.
Planted grape variety proportions
70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon
Vinification
Very meticulous vinifications of the harvest after de-stemming, fermentations in temperature controlled stainless-steel vats. Long macerations.
Barrel ageing
In French oak barrels for between 12 to 15 months
Wine and food pairing
With game meat, stews, red or white meat (older vintages) and cheeses.
